The original is listed as a density of seven. I imagine that a density of eight would be comparable to a billiard ball.
Hi, Tim
Thanks for letting us know that you're unhappy with the density of your Roller Original. We've been trying to reach out to you from service@radroller.com to help you exchange your Roller for a different density. We have Xtra soft, Soft, Medium, and Stiff densities available for this product. A Roller Soft or Roller XL might be more along the lines of what you are looking to use.
We look forward to hearing from you

Excellent upgrade for me
I’d been using a small jade tool to increase blood flow, and wow is this a better option. Really helps release the top layer of tension and gets me moving again.

RAD app is $12.99/month
I would have given this a higher review, but the ongoing cost of the app is too high and a hidden expense not mentioned when I purchased the face roller for $65. I understand you need to charge for the material, but the annual cost should be less. There was also false advertising in regards to the app. No written instructions came in the box… I was literally forced to use the app.
Hi, Bess
The premium version of the app is entirely optional. You can access the free version of the app at any time without making payment to see your usage videos.
The RAD Roller is the tool people keep within arm’s reach.
Built to target the mid-back, neck, shoulders, feet, and chest, it helps release tension in areas traditional foam rollers often miss.
The compact dual-ball shape creates focused pressure along the spine and surrounding muscles, helping open tight tissue without putting direct pressure on the vertebrae.
Whether you’re dealing with upper back tightness from desk work, neck tension from long days on the phone, sore shoulders after training, or stiffness from travel, the RAD Roller is designed to help you move better with just a few minutes of daily use.
Physical therapists, runners, strength athletes, hair stylists, and everyday users consistently describe it as one of the most effective tools they’ve used for trigger point release, fascia tension, and mobility work.
Users commonly use the RAD Roller for:
Neck and shoulder tension
Mid-back tightness
Thoracic mobility
Plantar fascia discomfort
Post-workout muscle soreness
Trigger point massage
Recovery between chiropractic or physical therapy visits
The medium-density design provides deep pressure while still offering enough give to stay comfortable during daily use.
Many users describe it as the perfect balance between aggressive muscle release and controlled support.
Small enough to travel with. Strong enough for daily recovery.
This is the product that started RAD’s Colorado-built recovery system.
Target tight muscles with precision: The dual-ball shape helps isolate hard-to-reach areas like the upper back, neck, traps, chest, feet, and spinal muscles.
Help relieve neck and shoulder tension: Designed to release tight tissue caused by sitting, lifting, repetitive movement, travel, and desk work.
Improve thoracic mobility: Helps open the mid-back and thoracic spine to support posture, breathing, rotation, and overhead movement.
Support fascia and trigger point release: Commonly used for muscle knots, fascia tension, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release routines.
Daily recovery in minutes: Quick sessions before workouts, after training, or at the end of the day may help reduce stiffness and improve movement quality.
Compact and travel friendly: Small enough for gym bags, backpacks, office drawers, and carry-ons.
Designed for real life: Built for runners, lifters, desk workers, physical therapy recovery, and everyday tension relief.
