I bought this Rad release kit to ease my shoulder. I was diagnosed with rotator cuff tendonitis and malfunctioning muscles. I was in a bit of a state. A cluster of private physio appointments got me moving again but 30 minutes a few times a week is not going to be enough to fix me or keep me from seizing up again. I wanted something that would help me self manage daily. I was amazed at how helpful the block has been at getting into the nooks and crannies of my shoulder. Parts that would have been difficult to reach otherwise. I have been able to reduce/release the overall tightness in my shoulder and upper back and I have only been using it for two days. I have also been doing yoga and have already noticed an improvement in movement and the depth of stretch I can achieve after having used the Rad block. It might appear a little over-priced at £65 but I was paying £55 per physio session, so I believe this block is going to save me hundreds in the long run. You could also do a similar set up with a yoga block and peanut ball for a fraction of the price, which I have tried, but this block is specifically designed to hold the balls and works much better than a yoga block and loose ball. There are enough videos on you tube showing you how to use the block. They also have streaming videos that can be purchased on the Rad website, which I think this is pretty poor/greedy/unfortunate as we obviously need to know how to use the block! But regardless, I am very chuffed with the relief I have achieved with this purchase so far.

I have been an ultra-distance runner for about a decade now, racing anywhere from 25K to 100 miles 3-6 times a year. While I wouldn’t consider myself elite, I do have a few podium finishes, train hard, and always look to give it my all. As you can imagine, my body tends to take a beating from all of the mileage. When not running, I have a desk job, so it is really easy to let myself become sedentary; I have to be really good about using my downtime effectively to take care of my body. In the competitive recovery tools market, what attracted me to look at RAD was their breadth of tools and what appeared to be a very knowledgeable and scientific approach to their design. The Axle is one of the newest products from RAD and is definitely a welcome addition. I previously tried to use their Helix product similarly to how I would use a foam roller and it just didn’t work. It was too small and didn’t really allow me to get deep into the bigger muscle groups. The Axle fulfilled a big need for me. Without a doubt, it is the best tool in the RAD suite for working the trunk of the body. I like to use it from my glutes all the way up to the middle of my shoulders. Its size allows you to comfortably sit or lay on it and settle onto trouble spots in the muscles. With its contoured shape, you can work your back without worrying about hurting your spine, a trait that is absent in most competing foam rollers that I have tried in the past. It is another example of how intelligent and well thought out RAD product design seems to be.

Absolutely outstanding device. The perfect placement on all the stiff achey parts. Personal use is the best on your back rolling the kinks out, and having a partner roll you down is even better! I will definitely be purchasing more as gifts no one knew they needed, so seriously if you don't know what to get someone for their birthday or christmas, you cannot go wrong here. (However, I do want to add that as a first time user there is some getting used to. you have to understand this device helps to relieve the muscle of built up tension and toxins so at first the pressure can feel very hard and like it hurts but you really need to relax and breathe through it. the more you do it the more your muscles and body will thank you. And the more they will loosen up and get used to it, if anything you will be calling for it the next time your back kinks up, or your neck)!

Great for stretching my stiff neck muscles. Bigger than a softball, but softer and easier to use for sore muscles. Doesn't hold air indefinitely, but is very easy to refill. Keep the pump nearby. Also good for stretching psoas muscles, muscles around SI joints, and stuff shoulders. Favourite new ball for stretches (lacrosse ball is 2nd favourite).

A week or two before my RAD roller arrived, I was suffering pain with the knots on my Right shoulder blade. It was shooting pain and numbness, due to the new sitting position at my new desk, plus I carried heavy backpack on a trip. The RAD works wonder, decreased and satisfied 70% after 1 night of all the soreness/uncomfortable feeling the knots created. I use it every other day (just because timing is not allowed for everyday), after 2 weeks, most of my knots are gone. I'm 95% back to normal, well, it'll take time since I work everyday. Although, I don't know if other people can take the pain as much as I can, because it hurts really bad when you use RAD on the knots, but I loveeee that pain lol. You don't feel the different right after but give it a night, you'll feel better the next morning, The best position works for me is to sit on my bed and place the RAD vertically between my shoulder blade and the wall and keep roll back n forward or push on the knots, whatever it takes. My bed has one side against the wall so it's perfect in this case. PS: for long hair people, make sure tight all your hair up, because the RAD is a great hair puller >[ Enjoy !

I’m always on the hunt for facial tools to help with puffiness I get under my eyes and jawline every morning, and this sure did the trick!! I’ve tried other gua sha tools in the past but the handle grip of this one tied with the spinning top makes it not only so much easier to use, but makes so much more of a difference than just a gua sha alone. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking to help increase circulation in their face and jawline. 10/10!!

I am beyond obsessed with this foam roller. I’ve tried just about every roller out there, and once I got the RAD Helix, I honestly never looked back. It’s compact, high-density, and incredibly effective. Despite being smaller and travel-friendly, this roller packs a serious punch. I even travel with it because it works so well and doesn’t take up much space. It’s great for targeted muscle work and really getting into tight areas. Personal thought: This roller can feel very strong — even painful — if you’re not using it correctly or if you’re extremely tight. That’s not a flaw, but something to be aware of. When used with intention and control, it’s powerful in the best way and delivers real relief. If you want a foam roller that’s small, durable, and actually effective, this one is worth it.
